Axis Spatial is an applied research lab for spatial AI.
We're based in Berlin. We help teams use AI on maps, satellite data and GIS work, and we build tools for it.
What we work on
AI is good at a lot of computer work now. Maps and spatial data are still hard for it. A model will run your GIS analysis with the wrong coordinate system or an out-of-date layer and hand you a map that looks fine. If you can't check the answer, you can't use it.
So we work on two things: getting AI to do spatial work properly, and making its answers easy to check.
What we've made
- Geospatial Agent Benchmarks tests AI models on real GIS and Earth observation tasks and checks every answer.
- axis-migrate moves old ArcGIS and QGIS projects to Python and shows that the outputs match.
- Reeve answers a farmer's questions from their own records and public data, with a source for every number.
